Testimonials

Our experience with Dan Hennessey Construction has been outstanding. We renovated our 100 year old craftsman home in San Anselmo and found the attention to detail excellent. The bumped out window in our front room let in light without forfeiting our original craftsmen look, expansion wainscotting was matched perfectly, and when the skylight leaked 5 years later Dan was at our home within 2 hours to repair the skylight. I would recommend Dan Hennessey as a licensed contractor with exceptional qualities to address the client's needs and conform to building code of conduct. Dan is compliant, pleasant and offers a good value on a job well done.”

"
Dan Hennessey had already successfully completed a bedroom addition for us when our home was wrecked by the flood of Dec 31, 2005. We knew right away we were going to have Dan & his great team rebuild our home and called him on New Years Day. To the surprise of our neighborhood, the town and even FEMA, we moved backed into our completed home on April 1st. Three months to clean, demo, lift and completely rebuild a 4 bedroom home! Dan and his crew attacked the project with vigor, experience and sensitivity and pulled it all together perfectly on budget."

My name is Ivars J. Bars. I am a licensed attorney, real estate broker and general contractor. I am writing this testimonial for Hennessey Construction. Over the years I have hired Hennessey Construction to work on several large custom homes in Marin County. The first project he worked on for me was in 1998. It was a custom 10,200 square foot residence at the top of Kent Woodlands in Kentfield. His trim work was one of the outstanding features of the project. In the same project, we also had his team build a top of the line custom designed 10 person sauna lined with clear heart cedar walls and benches. In fact, the sauna was constructed so as not to reveal a single metal screw or nail head. I have been personally involved in the construction of numerous saunas over the years and I must say this has set the bar in my mind as the ultimate woodwork result in a sauna. It deserved to be photographed to show what the ultimate sauna looks like. In another subsequent project in a 10,000 square foot home in Kentfield we hired Hennessey Construction as the primary contractor to convert a large outdoor garage into a fully enclosed, heated and cooled, billiard room and home theatre center. This project involved a tricky floor situation, complex framing issues, ducting, and very complicated wiring. Dan Hennessey and his crew came in on budget and on time with a fabulous final product. I have known Dan personally for over 12 years now and I would definitely call him for my next project. He is not the lowest bid in town, but based on years of experience with many contractors, with Hennessey Construction you get more than what you pay for with the quality, professional attitude, and problem free experience. And that’s worth a lot.”

I have known and worked with Dan Hennessey and Hennessey Construction for over 15 years. Dan has worked on multiple projects that I have designed including my own house. His attention to detail and competency to complete a job professionally and timely is an inspiration to me. Especially in this competitive market. I look forward to working with Hennessy Construction because they are able to do what they say they can do and the quality of their work proves that they truly are professionals.”

Dan and his crew completed a large remodeling project for us – including the addition of a master suite/office, decks and a major kitchen remodel. They do everything you expect from a good contractor: they show up on time, stay on schedule, work on one project at a time and minimize the disturbance as much as possible. Where they go above and beyond, is in their willingness and ability to work with the client to find a solution that works best from a design perspective and from a budget perspective. Starting from our (sometimes half-baked) design ideas, Dan was able to come up with  creative and workable solutions. Based on Dan's sketches, the crew built a floating vanity, a roomy recessed floor-to-ceiling bathroom cabinet, a half-wall partition, and a wood-and-steel cable railing – all features of the remodel that required some thinking outside the box. They did an excellent job.”

Following the flood of our home in ‘05, we found Dan Hennessey and his crew and they worked with me, our designer and all variety of others over the next 9 months until we could move back in.

Due to the grace, fairness and skill of Dan and crew, this very challenging project moved right along!  Dan’s skill and temperament made the back and forth between our plans/designs to prep. for a lift, the actual lift of the house, the structural engineer and the myriad of others involved in
every specific area of repair of this home – a quite manageable and pleasant experience.

Dan and crew are fine people and as happy as we were to move back in, we missed everyone being here daily.

The flood forced our family into it, but Dan and his crew turned a very old house with all sorts of structural challenges into a strong, safe and beautiful place to live.”
